MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. Russia will continue negotiations on implementing all comprehensive decisions to ensure the presence of its armed forces in Syria, Member of the State Duma International Affairs Committee and Deputy Secretary of the United Russia General Council Sergey Zheleznyak said on Friday.
The lawmaker spoke in the State Duma, the lower house of Russia’s parliament, on behalf of the United Russia faction when the legislation discussed the issue of ratifying the Russian-Syrian agreement on the indefinite deployment of Russia’s air task force in Syria.
"Today we’re discussing the issue of the indefinite air task force in Syria. We have a naval base at Tartus. I’m confident that we’ll further continue the negotiation process to carry through all comprehensive decisions on ensuring the presence of our Armed Forces in the Syrian Arab Republic," the parliamentarian said.
The State Duma is discussing on Friday the ratification of the Russian-Syrian agreement on the indefinite stay of Russia’s air task force in Syria.
