Foreign Ministry says US, EU keep anti-Russian sentiment

The Western countries are still opposed to any meaningful and impartial discussion, the ministry said after the annual OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Review Conference

MOSCOW, September 30 /TASS. The United States and the European Union have set the goal of keeping the anti-Russian sentiment in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) alive, the Russian Foreign Ministry said after the annual OSCE Human Dimension Implementation Review Conference held in Warsaw.

"The Western countries are still opposed to any meaningful and impartial discussion. They are using the Conference for suiting their own political interests," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

"The attitude of mind shown by the United States, the European Union and Ukraine is disappointing. Apparently, their main aim is to keep the anti-Russian mood in the organization alive. The best proof of that is that Washington, Brussels and Kiev, which is under their control, are not ready to admit that the West’s aggressive and irresponsible policy is the reason for the serious crisis in the OSCE space. That policy provoked a grave internal conflict in Ukraine and created a migration crisis in the European continent," the ministry said in its statement.

Russia is convinced that the OSCE must and should make a useful contribution to "international humanitarian cooperation."

"In pursuit of that it is necessary to give up confrontation and return to a constructive discussion of urgent problems. We are ready to interact with all the forces concerned. We see our main task in restoring the OSCE as a unique forum for equal and mutually respectful dialogue and collective adoption of decisions on urgent regional security issues," the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
