Russia's ruling party to nominate 7 new chairmen to State Duma committees — source

Russian Airborne Force Commander Vladimir Shamanov will be nominated to the post of the head of the State Duma Committee for Defense and Vasily Peskaryov for the post of the Security Committee head

MOSCOW, September 28. /TASS/. The United Russia ruling party will nominate seven new chairmen to the posts of the heads of State Duma committees, with two of them with the experience of legislative work and five elected for the first time, a source in the party told TASS on Wednesday.

The issue of nominating candidates to the posts of the chairmen of State Duma committees will be considered on Wednesday at a session of the United Russia General Council presidium, the source said.

According to the source, representative of the All-Russia Popular Front Nikolai Nikolayev will be nominated to head the State Duma Committee for Natural Resources while Olga Savostyanova will be offered for the post of the head of the State Duma Committee for the Work Procedure and doctor Dmitry Morozov for the post of the chairman of the State Duma Committee for Health (both are also representatives of the All-Russia Popular Front).

Russian Airborne Force Commander Vladimir Shamanov will be nominated to the post of the head of the State Duma Committee for Defense and Vasily Peskaryov for the post of the head of the State Duma Committee for Security.

Also, Olga Timofeyeva will be nominated to the post of the chairwoman of the State Duma Committee for the Environment and Environmental Protection and Ildar Gilmutdinov for the post of the chairman of the State Duma Committee for Nationalities. Both of them were deputies of the State Duma of the 6th convocation.
