MOSCOW, September 12. /TASS/. Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov has commented on reports of Mikhail Khodorkovsky's ‘alternative candidate’ project ahead of Russia’s presidential elections due in 2018.
"Indeed, we have seen media reports about this [project]. All I can say in this respect is that such projects are obviously developed by people who have irretrievably lost any sight of Russia, of what is going on here, of the current Russian agenda," he told journalists.
"We see nothing interesting in this project," he underscored.
Former top executive of Russian oil major Yukos Mikhail Khodorkovsky told RBC earlier on Monday he plans to look for potential rivals to Russia’s President Vladimir Putin for the next presidential polls due in 2018. He said a special website will be launched for that purpose.
