Lavrov, Kerry to discuss coordination in anti-terror fight in Syria

The two countries' top diplomats will meet in Geneva on August 26

MOSCOW, August 25. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is due to fly to Geneva on Thursday for talks with US Secretary of State John Kerry, Foreign Ministry’s official spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters.

"Today the delegation led by Lavrov is heading to Geneva where tomorrow the talks with John Kerry will be held," the diplomat said. "The focus will be on the Syrian settlement, including the prospects of establishing close coordination of actions in the fight against terrorist groups now active in Syria," Zakharova said.

The sides may discuss other international issues, including the Ukrainian crisis and topical issues of bilateral agenda, she said.
