Putin to meet Slovak premier August 25

It is planned to discuss the current state and prospects for bilateral trade and economic cooperation and pressing international issues

MOSCOW, August 24. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will discuss the prospects for bilateral cooperation with Slovakia at a meeting with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, the Kremlin press service reported on Wednesday.

"A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico will take place on August 25, 2016," the press service said. "It is planned to discuss the current state and prospects for bilateral trade and economic cooperation and pressing international issues."

Radio Slovakia earlier too reported that Prime Minister Fico planned to have dinner with the Russian leader in Moscow, adding that the main issue on the agenda will be the prospects for improving the bilateral relations between the EU and Russia marred by sanctions.

Fico earlier said that his government was interested in rectifying the situation with the Russia-EU cooperation. Slovakia seeks to restore in full the EU’s partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation with our country.
