MOSCOW, August 8. /TASS/. Russia is ready to take part in a meeting of the Normandy Four leaders on the sidelines of the Group of Twenty in China, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.
"If the Chinese hosts agree to organize a meeting in the Normandy Four format on the sidelines of the Group of Twenty summit, we will be ready for that. We think it will be well appropriate," he said.
According to the Russian top diplomat, the initiative to organize a Normandy Four summit came from Ukraine.
He also expressed concern over Ukraine’s actions in Donbass in the recent time. "Russia is alarmed to see the growing number of Ukrainian armed forces deployed along the line of engagement in Donbass," he said. "The current outburst of Ukraine’s military activities runs counter to the spirit and the letter of the Minsk agreements."
