MOSCOW, August 3. /TASS/. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov has described media reports on the alleged imminent changes in the Russian government, up to the prime minister’s resignation, as the usual "exercises of political scientists" and speculations that are unworthy of notice.
"Exercises on the ‘impending resignation of the Cabinet’ are not something new, both among Russian political scientists and abroad," he said. "We know that all of them display a remarkable persistence in guessing on a coffee thick, predicting the dismissal of individual Cabinet members or the entire government, the prime minister and so on with a greater of lesser degree of certainty."
"These are never-ending speculations that are no longer perceived as worthwhile information," the Kremlin spokesman said.
Peskov also rejected the possibility that personnel reshuffle in Russia could be carried out to improve Moscow’s relations with Western countries.
"President Putin has repeatedly demonstrated that due to Moscow’s invariably constructive approach (towards relations with Western nations) Russia has no intention of doing something domestically to please someone outside the country," he said. "So, such an approach is far from reality," he added.
