Moscow, Baku discuss preparations for Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran summit

The Russian, Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents will meet in Baku in the first half of August

MOSCOW, July 21. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and his Azerbaijani counterpart Khalaf Khalafov discussed preparations for the upcoming meeting of Russian, Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents in Baku, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.

"Among discussed issues were preparations for the upcoming Russia-Azerbaijan-Iran summit in Baku, as well as several aspects of bilateral relations," the foreign ministry said.

On July 13 Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the summit between Russia, Azerbaijan and Iran is planned for the first half of August. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ibrahim Rahimpur told TASS that the summit may be held on August 8.
