Medvedev signs strategy to improve quality of food products until 2030

The strategy envisages improvement of the regulatory framework and monitoring

GORKI, July 4. /TASS/. Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed the Strategy of improving quality of food products until 2030.

"I would like to announce that I have signed a special document on the quality of food products. This strategy of increasing food quality until 2030," he said at a meeting with his deputies.

"The strategy envisages improvement of the regulatory framework and monitoring and the establishment of a unified information system, where one can find out where a certain product was made and what it was made of, what supplements are used," Medvedev said.

The head of the government urged presence of high-quality products on shelves of national food stores. "A lot is being done for it, in particular as part of the government program of agriculture sector support," he said.

Unified information system with data about all food producers and ingredients will be created in Russia, Medvedev added.
