MOSCOW, July 2. /TASS/. Pavel Astakhov after his holiday will step down as the presidential children's ombudsman, a high-ranking source at the Kremlin told reporters on Saturday.

Pavel Astakhov took the office on December 30, 2009. He became Russia’s ombudsman on children’s rights.

The media wrote earlier Astakhov had filed a resignation application, but his office did not confirm the information.
