MOSCOW, July 1. /TASS/. Russia’s Foreign Ministry urges Russians to consider high terrorist threat risks in Turkey as they are planning their trips to that country, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Friday.
"I would like to emphasize that amid the persisting risk related to possible terrorist threats, it is necessary to approach extremely responsibly the issues of planning trips and visit places, carefully assessing the situation and possible dangers," the spokeswoman said.
At the same time, Russia "is ready for the resumption of tourist ties with Turkey," Zakharova said.
The Russian president’s recent decree lifts restrictions on Russian tourists to visit Turkey while the Russian government will shortly take measures to cancel a ban on charter air flioghts between the two countries, the Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said.
At the same time, Moscow expects Ankara "to take all maximally possible measures to ensure the security of Russian citizens who intend to visit Turkey," she said.
A suicide bomber attack in the international terminal of Istanbul airport on June 28 claimed the lives of 42 people, including 13 foreign nationals. As many as 238 people, including foreigners, were wounded in the terror attack.
