Russian, Chinese vice premiers begin talks on Putin’s upcoming visit

The sides will discuss transit transport infrastructure, global navigation satellite systems, joint development of infrastructure of the Northern Sea Route and the construction of the Belkomur railway

HUANGSHAN (China), June 20. /TASS/. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang began talks on Monday on the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China late this month and his meeting with Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

At the session of the Russian-Chinese intergovernmental commission on preparing for regular meetings of heads of governments, the vice premiers will also consider other important issues of the Russian-Chinese economic cooperation.

"Today we will make a major focus on preparing for the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his full-scale talks with Mr. Xi Jinping and China’s leadership," Rogozin told the opening ceremony.

The sides will discuss the development of transborder and transit transport infrastructure, global navigation satellite systems, joint development of infrastructure of the Northern Sea Route and the construction of the Belkomur railway, a link between the White Sea and the Urals.

The talks will also focus on encouraging bilateral trade, strategic projects of the Russian-Chinese economic cooperation and preparation for the third Russian-Chinese exhibition EXPO to be held as part of the Innoprom large-scale exhibition in the Urals city Yekaterinburg, Rogozin said.
