Putin decorates UN chief with Order of Friendship

The UN chief was given the Russian order for special merits in strengthening peace, friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between peoples

ST. PETERSBURG, June 16. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday presented United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon with an Order of Friendship.

The presidential decree on decoration of Ban Ki-moon was signed June 8.

The UN chief was given the Russian order "for special merits in strengthening peace, friendship, cooperation and mutual understanding between peoples."
