Putin to have informal meeting with French ex-president Nicolas Sarkozy — aide

They will possibly discuss the current state and future of Russian-French relations, the situation in the Middle East, in particular in Syria

MOSCOW, June 14./TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will have an informal meeting with former French President Nikolas Sarkozy on Wednesday, the president’s aide said on Tuesday.

"Late on June 15, the president will have an informal dinner with his old friend Nicolas Sarkozy," Yuri Ushakov told reporters.

He said it won’t be a scheduled meeting. They will possibly discuss the current state and future of Russian-French relations, the situation in the Middle East, in particular in Syria, he said. Ushakov said Putin and Sarkozy planned to discuss a wide range of issues related to cooperation of the two countries in political, trade, investment and cultural sectors.
