MOSCOW, June 14. /TASS/. Speaker of Russia’s State Duma (lower house of parliament) Sergei Naryshkin has said the Orlando tragedy stems from oversight on the part of the U.S. intelligence services.
"As for the conclusions for the U.S. authorities, of course, this is a blatant error of the U.S. intelligence services. They admitted that they interrogated the terrorist three times at various times," Naryshkin said answering a question on the issue from a TASS correspondent.
Speaking about the conclusions, which, in his opinion, should be made by the US authorities after the incident, Naryshkin noted that "of course, this raises the issue of widespread sale of firearms".
"Here, too, the authorities should look again into this issue, which has been widely debated in the American society before," the Duma speaker said.
"This terrorist act raises it anew", Naryshkin said. He also offered condolences to the families and friends of those lost their lives "in this horrible terrorist attack."
