MOSCOW, June 10. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold on June 14 talks with Uruguayan Vice President Raul Sendic, who will pay an official visit to Moscow, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Friday.

"On June 14, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will receive Vice President, Chairman of the General Assembly of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay Mr. Sendic, who will arrive in Russia on an official visit on an invitation from the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation," Zakharova said.

She said Uruguay is a reliable partner of the Russian Federation in Latin America.

"We constructively interact at the UN site, including in the Security Council," Zakharova said. "We also interact at other international sites. Uruguay as the current chairman of MERCOSUR renders assistance in arranging cooperation of the association both with the Russian Federation and the Eurasian Economic Union."

"All this testifies to the fact that our countries have broad opportunities for fruitful cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, in the sphere of boosting bilateral political dialogue," the diplomat underscored. "Opportunities for that open in connection with the upcoming participation of the Uruguayan delegation in the work of the 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.".
