Putin to visit Greece on May 27-28 — Kremlin

The talks with Greek officials are expected to dwell on key issues of bilateral trade, economic and investment interaction, including the implementation of joint energy and transport projects

MOSCOW, May 23 /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a visit to the Hellenic Republic on May 27-28, the Kremlin press service reported.

"He will meet Prokopis Pavlopoulos, the president of the Hellenic Republic, and Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. The summit talks are expected to dwell on key issues of bilateral trade, economic and investment interaction, including the implementation of joint energy and transport projects," the press service said.

Special attention will be paid to cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Russia and Greece are holding the Cross Years of Russian and Greek culture in 2016. This year will also see the 1,000 anniversary of Russian presence on St. Mount Athos in Greece.

Putin and the Greek leaders will exchange views on urgent international and regional problems.

A number of bilateral documents will be signed during the visit.
