GORKI, May 17. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev is holding a meeting with his Cambodian counterpart Hun Sen in Gorki residence outside Moscow on Tuesday to discuss bilateral cooperation.

"We are very glad that you have come for a visit and we plan to discuss with you all issues of the Russian-Cambodian cooperation," Medvedev said opening talks with Cambodia’s prime minister.

Medvedev reminded that recently Cambodia and Russia marked the 60th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations. Over the past years, a lot has been achieved and the sides have plans for the future, he said. The Russian premier thanked the Cambodian side for hospitality during his visit to the country in November 2015 which he said saw fruitful talks.

Cambodia’s premier also thanked Russia for "a warm welcome and hospitality." Hun Sen said he is glad to visit Moscow, reminding that last time he traveled to this "beautiful city" more than 30 years ago. He noted "progress and development" that Russia has seen over the past years.

He said last year’s visit of Medvedev was historic, stressing that this was the first visit of Russia’s prime minister to Cambodia. "After your visit we established very close ties," Hun Sen said.

The talks later continued behind closed doors.
