YOSHKAR-OLA, April 25./TASS/. Participation of foreign foundations and institutions in Russian education is "extremely dangerous," Russian President Vladimir Putin warned on Monday.
"Anyone who feels like it engages in education, not only pre-school but also school education - some foreign foundations are meddling, financing somebody," the president said told the ‘Forum of Action’ session of the All-Russia Popular Front.
"Of course, we must be open to all that is new, but these foundations are in no way in line with our traditions, culture," the president said. "This is an extremely dangerous thing," he went on.
"Of course, we must be open to the world and to everything new in order to progress, but we must in no way forget about our cultural roots, our traditions," he said, urging special attention to this problem.
