BEIJING, April 25. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit China on April 28-29 in the framework of preparations for an official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Beijing in the summer, Chinese Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Monday.

"Lavrov will visit China on April 28-29 where he will hold a meeting with (Chinese) Foreign Minister Wang Yi. The important topic for discussion will be preparations for the visit of Vladimir Putin to China in the summer. The sides will also exchange opinions on international and regional issues of mutual interest," Hua said.
According to the diplomat, "China and Russia are important partners and members of UN Security Council" that "play an important role in the system of international affairs." "China and Russia decisively plan to maintain dialogue and exchanges at the high political level in order to achieve practical results of cooperation," she added.
Hua also confirmed that Lavrov will take part in the 5th session of foreign ministers of member countries of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia on April 28.
The Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is an inter-governmental forum for enhancing cooperation towards promoting peace, security and stability in Asia. CICA has 26 member states, seven observer states and four observer organization.
