Thailand’s PM, defense minister to visit Russia — lawmaker

MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Thailand’s Premier Prayuth Chan-ocha and Defense Minister Prawit Wongsuwan will visit Russia, Thailand’s lawmaker Sokatiyanurak Worapol said on Wednesday.

"We think Russia is our friend," Worapol said at a meeting with Russian parliamentary delegation. "Our premier and defense minister will pay an official visit to Russia to sign a number of different agreements."

"We are sure we will enhance security level for the Russian tourists," he said.

Somchai Sawangkarn, the secretary for the lawmaker group for friendship with Russia, said the premier will "meet with the Russian president soon."

"The sides will discuss the most pressing aspects of security, education and oil and gas industry," he said.
