MOSCOW, April 20. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin believes that the situation in Syria has reaffirmed the ability of the world community to achieve results by acting together. "The main thing is that the Syrian situation has confirmed once again that the international community can achieve tangible results working together relying on international law and the central role of the United Nations," he said at the ceremony of presentation of credentials by the newly-arrived foreign ambassadors.
The Russian leader noted that, together with the US and other countries, it became possible to launch the political process with the participation of official Damascus and the opposition forces and create conditions for providing humanitarian assistance for the needy population in Syria.
