Russian upper house’s delegation heading to Oman

The conversations are expected to focus on interparliamentary interaction and establishment of ties between the two countries’ regions

MASQAT, April 11. /TASS/. A delegation of the Federation Council, the upper house of Russia’s parliament, led by Council speaker Valentina Matviyenko is departing on an official visit to Oman on Monday.

During the visit to Masqat, the delegation plans to meet with acting Oman Sultanate leader, deputy prime minister Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said and State Council Chairman Yahya bin Mahfoudh al-Manthri.

The conversations are expected to focus on interparliamentary interaction and establishment of ties between the two countries’ regions.

The sides will discuss development of bilateral relations, including in the trade and economic sphere, as well as urgent regional and international problems.

"Russia is set for strengthening of the political dialogue and qualitative development of Russian-Omani cooperation in the economic and humanitarian spheres," Matviyenko said on the threshold of the visit.
