Putin: Third stretch of power linkup with Crimea to be commissioned in a few days

In 2017-2018, additional capacities will be built, the Russian president says

ST. PETERSBURG, April 7. /TASS/. The third stretch of the power linkup with Crimea will be commissioned in a few days, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday at an All-Russia People’s Front (ONF) media forum.

"By the way, the third stretch of the ‘energy bridge’ will be put into operation in a few days," Putin said. "Then soon, I think in May, the fourth one will [be commissioned]."

He said this will make it possible to replace power generation that earlier came from Ukraine.

"Later, in 2017-2018, additional capacities will be built that will exceed today’s needs and will create an opportunity for development of the real sector of the economy, including agriculture," Putin said.
