MOSCOW, April 6. /TASS/. Russia has found nothing new in the report to the British parliament containing allegations Moscow has unleashed a media war: its purpose is traditional - to create a myth about a "Russian threat" to excuse military spending, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Wednesday.

"All this describes the media campaign against Britain in very incomprehensible terms and the results of it are hard to evaluate," she said. "We’ve found nothing fundamentally new in this document."

"For the first time in many years Russia has been accused of direct intervention in Britain’s internal affairs, including the referendum on Britain’s secession from the EU and on upgrading the Trident missile systems," Zakharova said. In all other respects, she added, the report is nothing but a collection of propaganda cliches aimed at intimidating British population with an ostensible Russian military threat."
