MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Russia welcomes restoration of good-neighborly relations between Cuba and the United States, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.
"Russia and Cuba have had friendly partnership relationship for decades. Now these relations are acquiring a new nature, [there are] vast opportunities for bilateral cooperation, and, of course, we would like friendly Cuba to maintain good relations with all its neighbors, above all, the United States," Peskov said.
He noted that Moscow had repeatedly criticized at various level the supporters of the sanctions approach, referring primarily to the ineffectiveness and futility of sanctions. "Therefore, we can only welcome the rejection of the sanctions policy in international affairs in general," the Kremlin spokesman said.
