MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Cooperation between Russia and Iran on the Syrian settlement has brought relations between the two countries to a new level, Russian president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

"Cooperation on the Syrian affairs has added a new dimension which obviously helped raise the level," he said.

Peskov noted that Russia and Iran have never interrupted their cooperation. "Let us not forget that these relations have never been stopped, have never been frozen," the Kremlin spokesman said. "Russia has never stopped cooperation with Teheran, so it would be wrong to speak about any new regimes [of cooperation after lifting sanctions off Iran and the beginning of the Syrian operation - TASS]. We have been persistently developing friendly relations with Iran."
