MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has expressed his condolences to the Turkish people over a massive death toll as a result of a terrorist attack on Ankara, Medvedev’s spokeswoman Natalya Timakova said.

"On behalf of the government of the Russian Federation, and on my own behalf, I am expressing condolences over numerous victims as a result of a terrorist act in Ankara," Medvedev said in a telegram sent to the people of the Turkish Republic.

"There can be no justification to terrorist crimes," he underscored.

The premier expressed condolences to those who suffered as a result of the terrorist act.

"I convey words of empathy and compassion to the near and dear of those killed, wishes of the soonest recovery to all injured," Medvedev wrote.

A total of 34 people were killed and another 125 were wounded on Sunday as a result of an explosion in downtown Ankara. The condition of 34 of those injured is assessed as critical. According to preliminary data, a suicide bomber blew up a car bomb near a bus stop.
