MOSCOW, February 29. /TASS/. The Russian-US relations are unlikely to get warmer sharply after the presidential elections in the United States, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Monday.

"We should not link expectations for radical changes for the better in our relations with the elections in the United States," the diplomat said noting the anti-Russian consensus in both the Republican and the Democratic parties.

"Russia is perceived negatively in these parties and the elites of these parties," he said.

Development of the Russian-US relations will depend on the line the new US president and his foreign policy team choose.

He reminded that the initiative to halt contacts came not from Russia.

Moscow is ready to work "constructively" if there is political will and wish in Washington, he stressed.
