MOSCOW, February 17. /TASS/. Two gunmen who offered resistance to police have been eliminated during an anti-terrorism operation in Russia’s North Caucasus Republic of Dagestan, the Information Center of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) has told TASS.
Special forces units of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Interior Ministry have discovered two gunmen north of Nyutyug village who opened fire on the law enforcement officers who tried to detain them.
"During a brief firefight, they were neutralized. Law enforcers found an automatic rifle, a handgun and ammunition for them. The NAC’s operational headquarters organized the activities to identify the gunmen," the committee’s spokesman said.
