Russia suspends traffic of Ukrainian trucks in response to Ukraine’s actions

These measures will stay in force until the Ukrainian side settles the situation over illegal blocking of Russian trucks in Ukraine

MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. Russia has suspended traffic of Ukrainian trucks across Russia as a response measure to Ukraine’s actions, the Russian ministry of transport said in a statement posted on its website on Sunday.

"As a response measure, traffic of trucks registered in Ukraine has been suspended in Russia," the ministry said.

These measures will stay in force until the Ukrainian side settles the situation over illegal blocking of Russian trucks in Ukraine.

As of now, the ministry said, more than 100 Russian trucks are staying blocked in Ukraine and more than 500 trucks cannot enter Ukraine from the European Union countries on their way back to Russia.

The ministry noted that in the period from February 11 through 12 a total of 1,038 Ukrainian trucks freely entered Russia.

"Until now, the Ukrainian side has taken no measures to put an end to the illegal actions of certain groups and to ensure free movement of Russia trucks. Russia’s appeals to this effects have been unanswered," the ministry said.
