Russia concerned with NATO enlargement to Russian borders

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg discussed the current state and prospects for Russia-NATO relations at a bilateral meeting

MUNICH, February 12 /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg at a meeting on Friday that Russia was concerned with NATO military buildup near its borders, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Meshkov told journalists.

"Yes [there are concerns]," he said when asked to comment on Lavrov’s meeting with Stoltenberg.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg discussed the current state and prospects for Russia-NATO relations at a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference on Friday.

Prior to the talks, Stoltenberg said he felt positive about meeting the Russian foreign minister.
