MUNICH, February 11. /TASS/. A meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry has started ahead of the International Syria Support Group’s talks in Munich on Thursday, a TASS correspondent has reported.
The International Syria Support Group (ISSG), consisting of 17 countries and three organizations, is expected to meet later on Thursday after a range of bilateral meetings between the top diplomats from its members.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told a press briefing on Wednesday that a number of meetings were expected to be held on the sidelines of the conference with the participation of Russia’s top diplomat. A meeting of the Quartet of international mediators for Middle East settlement is planned as well.
