SOCHI, February 8. /TASS/. Russia’s delegation at talks of President Vladimir Putin with Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa will include foreign and energy ministers and the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told reporters.
The King of Bahrain has already arrived in Russia’s Black Sea resort city of Sochi that will host the talks with President Putin on Monday. The leaders will first meet in a narrow format and will be later joined by the delegation members.
"Our delegation is broad, there is a broad range of bilateral relations and promising areas for developing cooperation," Peskov said. "The Russian side will be of course represented by (Foreign Minister Sergey) Lavrov and (Energy Minister Alexander) Novak and also Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the RDIF, and others," he said.
Peskov earlier said the meeting will focus on the development of bilateral cooperation in trade, investments, energy, financial and humanitarian spheres. "The sides will also have a substantial exchange of opinions on the situations in the Middle East and North Africa, first of all in the context of fighting the international terrorism."
Both Russia and Bahrain stand for a political solution to the conflict in Syria to ensure stability in that country.
