CAIRO, January 26. /TASS/. The development of tourism between Russia and Egypt and the resumption of flights between the two countries were among the issues discussed during the talks of Russian State Duma speaker Sergey Naryshkin with Egyptian parliamentarians, speaker of Egypt’s House of Representatives (parliament) Ali Abdel Aal told reporters on Tuesday.
"This is the first visit of the chairman of a foreign parliament [since the election of the new legislative body of Egypt — TASS], and it was successful," the politician said.
According to him, at the talks "agreements have been reached on a number of issues." "We discussed such topics as the development of tourism and the resumption of flights between our two countries," Ali Abdel Aal said. Besides, "the two sides exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East, primarily in Syria, and in other regions."
"Our viewpoints on many aspects converge, and we are unanimous in our assessment that terrorism has no nationality," Ali Abdel Aal said. "Efforts of all sides at the regional and international level are needed to combat terrorism."
He added that the parties had agreed to exchange delegations and strengthen parliamentary diplomacy. According to the speaker of the Egyptian parliament, Sergey Naryshkin conveyed an invitation for the Egyptian parliamentary delegation to visit Russia. The two sides also agreed to set up the inter-parliamentary society of friendship.
