Russian FM to hold major news conference upon results of 2015

The conference will be held at 10:00 hours Moscow Standard Time (07:00 hours GMT)

MOSCOW, January 26. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is to hold a traditional major news conference on the results of the past year on Tuesday, with more than 200 Russian and 250 foreign reporters accredited for it.

The conference will be held at 10:00 hours Moscow Standard Time (07:00 hours GMT) at the ministry’s conference hall. It will be transmitted online at the ministry’s official website (www.mid.ru) in Russian, English and French.

Analysts expect that the bulk of questions will concern Syria, Ukraine, Iran, North Korea, Russia’s relations with the U.S. and the EU, and protection of the Russian citizens’ rights abroad.

Lavrov has urged the mass media to do an unbiased coverage of events related to Russia on numerous occasions.

"I hope other media, too, will assist with unbiased perception of the steps Russia - and any other nation - is making in the international arena," he said at one of the previous news conferences. "It’s exactly for this purpose that we meet here.".
