MOSCOW, January 21. /TASS/. Russia calls on its Western partners to show restraint in connection with developments in Moldova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told a press briefing on Thursday.
"We are closely following the situation that is evolving and the developments occurring in Moldova," the diplomat said. "They are related to the formation and approval of the new government of this country. Unfortunately, this process sometimes takes the form of an open confrontation between different political forces."
"We hope that the protracted political crisis in Moldova will be overcome within the legal framework on the basis of freedom of expression and, of course, democratic principles," Zakharova noted.
According to her, Russia is interested "in developing relations with stable and friendly Moldova."
