MOSCOW, January 13. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a telephone conversation with his South Korean counterpart urged Seoul to refrain from any action that might fan tensions in Northeast Asia, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said. The exchange of opinion was requested by the South Korean side.
"Serious concern was expressed over the DPRK authorities’ declaration the country has tested a hydrogen bomb," the Foreign Ministry said. "Russia underscored the importance of restraint and of refraining from any action capable of fanning tensions in Northeast Asia."
"Alongside this the importance was stressed for an early resumption of dialogue geared to identifying ways of a political and diplomatic settlement of the current crisis," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
Lavrov and Yung discussed "some aspects of bilateral relations, including plans for political contacts."
