Bahrain's cutting diplomatic ties with Iran unconstructive - Russian diplomatic source

Bahrain on Monday announced decision to sever diplomatic relations with Iran following a similar move by its ally, Saudi Arabia

MOSCOW, January 4. /TASS/. Bahrain’s decision to sever diplomatic relations with Iran is an unconstructive move, a Russian diplomatic source told TASS on Monday.

"It is necessary to maintain contacts and conduct dialogue instead of breaking off relations," the source said. "We regard this move as unconstructive. Severing diplomatic relations adds no mutual understanding."

"It is necessary to intensify contacts and find common grounds when contradictions emerge. History and geography cannot be altered and neighboring countries are destined to live together," he added.

Bahrain on Monday announced decision to sever diplomatic relations with Iran following a similar move by its ally, Saudi Arabia, and told the Iranian embassy staff to leave the kingdom within 48 hours.
