Russia's president congratulates world leader on Christmas, New Year — Kremlin

Greetings have been sent to Barack Obama, Francois Hollande, Angela Merkel, Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister David Cameron

MOSCOW, December 30. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated world leaders - among them are French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and Prime Minister David Cameron - on Christmas and the coming New Year, the Kremlin press service said on Wednesday.

Putin has also sent Christmas and New Year greetings to his US counterpart Barack Obama.

"The outgoing year confirmed that Russia-US relations are a key factor of ensuring international security," the Kremlin said. "The Russian leader has also expressed confidence that Russia and the US could counter new challenges and threats effectively and help settle crises in different regions by building constructive dialogue and cooperation with account for mutual interests."
