Chechnya President says Ukrainian authorities forgot interests of own people

Kadyrov added that Russia is trying to defend the rights of peaceful population in Ukraine and that is why it became the target of sanctions

GROZNY, December 29. /TASS/. Ukrainian authorities have forgotten the interests of their own people in a bid to please the Western countries, believes Chechnya’s President Ramzan Kadyrov.

"Yatsenyuk and Poroshenko are like actors in a puppet theater," he told a news conference in Grozny. "They are not patriots of Ukraine and they don’t defend the interests of their state and people. Their true objective is to please their Western patrons by performing blindly their orders."

Kadyrov added that Russia is trying to defend the rights of peaceful population in Ukraine and that is why it became the target of sanctions.

"Russia calls for settling the Ukrainian problem peacefully and it asks to refrain from bombing people, women, children, and the elderly," he said. "The problem can be resolved in a normal civilized way. But because of this our country has become the target of sanctions."

"But who are these sanctions against?" Kadyrov said. "Against the people of Russia and against you and us, among others.".
