Putin: Russia, India consistently and confidently develop privileged strategic partnership

MOSCOW, December 24. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russia and India are consistently and confidently developing the privileged strategic partnership.

"I am pleased to note, and I am happy to do that, that we are consistently and confidently developing the privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia," he said opening a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Putin noted that the bilateral relations were developing in all directions - in international politics, economy and the humanitarian area.

He added that a number of issues required special attention, "especially in today’s challenging economic environment." According to the Russian leader, Modi’s visit is very timely and will make it possible to "synchronize watches" on the main areas of cooperation between the two countries.
