Lavrov, Israel’s interior minister discuss international effort against Islamic State

The sides exchanged views on the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli affairs and discussed the situation in Syria and Iraq

MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Israel’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Silvan Shalom on the sidelines of the conference on the Mediterranean Dialogue in Rome, the Russian foreign ministry said on Friday.

"The sides exchanged views on the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli affairs and discussed the situation in Syria and Iraq," the ministry said. "Special attention was focused on consolidation of international efforts against the so-called Islamic State."

Lavrov and Shalom also touched upon "some current issues of the bilateral agenda," the ministry added.
