ROME, December 11. /TASS/. Moscow calls for rejecting double standards in counter-terrorism and for immediate closure of the Turkish-Syrian border, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the Rome: Mediterranean Dialogue conference on Friday.

"In order to drive anti-terrorism fight to success it is vital to give up the double game of supporting extremists and covering terrorists as it happened with the downing of the Russian bomber on November 24," Lavrov said.

"We cannot ignore when someone is playing the role of the Islamic State cronies, opens corridors for illegal oil trade and has economic relations with terrorists," Lavrov said. "We demand stopping it. All this confirms the need of the immediate closure of the Turkish-Syrian border."
