Moscow hopes for success of next inter-Yemen talks — foreign ministry

MOSCOW, December 11. /TASS/. The success of the next round of the inter-Yemen consultations planned in Geneva for mid-December is of great importance, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

The statement was made following the talks between Russian presidential envoy for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov with the Secretary General of the major Yemen’s party General People's Congress, Aref Al-Zouqa, and former Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al Kirbi.

"The sides thoroughly discussed the Yemeni crisis in the context of talks on inter-Yemen contacts under the UN auspices planned for mid-December," the ministry said. "The sides stressed the success of the talks is important to reach sustainable peace and national agreement in Yemen through the implementation of the UN Security Council resolution and the inter-Yemen accords."
