Russia expands list of undesirable NGOs with US-Russia economic, law development fund

The US-Russia Foundation for Economic Advancement and the Rule of Law has been included in the list of undesirable NGOs

MOSCOW, December 7. /TASS/. The Russian Justice Ministry has included the US-Russia Foundation for Economic Advancement and the Rule of Law into the list of undesirable NGOs, the ministry’s press service told TASS on Monday.

"On December 7 the Justice Ministry included the US-Russia Foundation for Economic Advancement and the Rule of Law into the list of international and foreign undesirable NGO’s," the statement said.

The ministry announced that the US-Russia Foundation for Economic Advancement and the Rule of Law is in the undesirable list in accordance with the law adopted this spring implying that any foreign or international non-governmental organization, "which poses a threat to the foundations of Russia’s constitutional system, defense capability and state security, can be classified as undesirable."

Earlier the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office recognized the foundation as undesirable.
