Putin to hold meeting with Russian Security Council members, Rostec CEO

Rostec includes more than 700 organisations that have now formed 9 holding companies in the defence industry complex and 5 - in civilian industries

MOSCOW, December 4. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting on Friday with the country’s Security Council permanent members and meet with head of Rostec Corporation Sergei Chemezov.

"The president is working in a fairly routine regime, he plans a briefing with the Security Council permanent members," presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

According to him, Putin will also receive Chemezov. "They will discuss various issues related to the work of Rostec and its products", said the Kremlin official.

Rostec includes more than 700 organisations that have now formed 9 holding companies in the defence industry complex and 5 - in civilian industries. The military part of a corporation, for example, includes Concern Kalashnikov, Russian Helicopters Holding, Concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (KRET), and JSC Rosoboronexport.

As for civilian products, its range is also very wide. Thus, the corporation is preparing for making e-books in 2016, the third version of a smartphone, the first tablet computer. In 2023-2024 it should manufacture a driverless KAMAZ truck. The corporation is also working on innovations in the sphere of healthcare and peaceful exploration of outer space.
