MOSCOW, December 2. /TASS/. the Kremlin believes that the prospects for enactment of the article on NATO’s collective defense should be commented on by the Russian Defense Ministry, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
"I recommend you to turn to specialists, to our Defense Ministry, for comments on such issues," he said commenting on the remarks of NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg that hybrid wars may lead to a military response from the Alliance.
Stoltenberg told a news conference on Tuesday that NATO foreign ministers had taken a decision, in line with which hybrid attacks may trigger the application of the article on the pact's collective defense. Article 5 of NATO's charter declares that aggression against one member-state shall trigger a military response from all other member-states.
