MOSCOW, November 27. /TASS/. In conditions of the lack of clarity on the regime of control over conventional weapons in Europe it is impossible to speak about modernization of trust measures and corresponding agreements, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday, commenting on NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s initiatives on the modernization of trust building measures on the Vienna Document of 2011.
"In conditions of the lack of clarity concerning the future of the regime of control over conventional weapons in Europe, when the former Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) has practically ceased to exist and there is nothing to supersede it, it is simply impossible to deal with profound modernization of the Vienna Document of 2011," the ministry said.
